Mission Statement
The Naa káani Native Program strives to educate and empower Native communities in the Pacific Northwest, with a focus on the Salish Sea Territory. We support cultural events, advocate for tribal rights, and aim to improve lives and healthcare for Indigenous communities through Traditional Medicine education. It is our mission to honor this knowledge, as well as the resilience and strength of Indigenous peoples and their enduring Spiritual connection to this land.

At the Naa káani Native Program, our vision is to create a harmonious and inclusive society where the richness of Indigenous cultures are celebrated, and people from all walks of life come together for mutual enrichment. Our work is guided by our dedication to preserving and revitalizing Indigenous knowledge that empowers and inspires our Tribal communities.
Land Acknowledgement
Naa káani Native Program acknowledges that we are on the ancestral lands of the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded this region since time immemorial, including the federally recognized; Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, Lummi Nation, Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Nisqually Indian Tribe, Nooksack Indian Tribe, Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe, Puyallup Tribe of Indians, Samish Indian Nation, Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe, Skokomish Indian Tribe, Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Squaxin Island Tribe, Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, Suquamish Tribe, Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, Tulalip Tribes, and Upper Skagit Indian Tribe, as well as the several federally unrecognized tribes, who we support and understand have occupied the Salish Sea territory since time immemorial. We express our deep respect for the rich cultures, languages, and traditions of these Indigenous communities.
We are committed to upholding the rights and sovereignty of the Indigenous nations in this territory, recognizing the historical and ongoing impacts of colonization. Our work is guided by a dedication to preserving and revitalizing Indigenous knowledge and promoting the well-being of our communities.
